Today marks the launch of my newest online class, Bead Embroidered Heart Pin, on CraftArtEdu. The class is offered at a discount until Sunday, August 16th.
Here is a project I will be teaching at ArtWaves in London, Ontario next week.
It’s a one-hour Cash & Carry class on Friday, August 16th, at 11:15am.
This week I had the pleasure to teach a one-day Zentangle class at the Canadian Embroiderers’ Guild, London (Ontario). There were 66 people in the class!
Here is the mosaic of everyone’s first tile (sorry to those who are missing, some people left early before I took the photo).
I used a new setup for the first time in this class, using my new iPad as a document camera. I was also able to use my iPad for a slide presentation at the beginning of the class.
I hade a great surprise at the end of the class, I received this card signed by all participants. Thanks everybody!
My newest online class, Drawing Mandalas, is now available at CraftArtEdu. In this class, you will learn how to draw mandalas from scratch, as well as several techniques for enhancing your mandalas with patterns, shading and colour.
Last weekend, I had a great time at the Coast to Coast Creative Arts convention.
Here is a photo of my booth:
and on the right side, I had a binder with samples of my work, and a space where I could demo; I mainly drew on square Zentangle tiles and Zendala tiles. The display on the far right is an acrylic showcase I use for pens, tiles, kits, etc.
Here is my teaching setup, my computer on the right, projector on the left, and document camera in the centre. (If I look tired in this photo it’s because this class took place from 6-10pm at the end of a day that started at 7am. Things livened up once the class got going.)
Finally, here are all the students’ projects from my class. We created a multi-purpose greeting card that can be copied and used for different purposes by adding a sentiment in the centre. Didn’t they all do a great job? Even the rebel who drew in her sketchbook instead of the card. 🙂
I will be at the Coast to Coast Creative Arts Convention which takes place on May 2-6, 2012 in Mississauga near Toronto. I will have a booth at the trade show, and my Zentangle class is scheduled for Friday, May 4th, at 6pm.
Here is a video preview of my class:
Earlier today, I had a great Zentangle and Colour class at the St. Thomas Elgin Arts Centre. This was mainly a technique class. We played with a variety of media that can be used to add colour to Zentangle-inspired art: coloured pencils, watercolour pencils, markers, and more.
It was great fun to play with all the art supplies. Here are sheets of card stock where the students experimented:
My last Intro to Zentangle class took place at the St. Thomas Elgin Arts Centre on February 5th. There were thirteen people in the class, including several mothers who took the class with their daughters. Here are a couple of photos of the class, and a photo of everyone’s first tile.
