Colouring Process: Digital + Traditional

I love working with coloured pencils, and those of you who follow my blog know that I have recently become addicted to creating digital art. So it will come as no surprise that I have combined the two together to make something very cool.

It started with a free colouring page from Dover Publications.

Then I use Procreate on my iPad to add purple and yellow-gold colour.

Still in Procreate, I added one of my digitally-painted backgrounds, and printed this image on my inkjet printer.

Finally, I added some shading and highlighting with coloured pencils.

Genevieve, this is so cool! Thanks for posting your steps. This is amazing! 🙂 Always love seeing your work! <3

Thank you, Lucy. My mother was an artist. I was always interested in what she was doing, and I learned a lot about colour.
