Geneviève Crabe: Introduction to Kumihimo

Description:

Learn the basics of the Japanese braiding art, Kumihimo, while creating a short length of braid decorated with a coordinated hand-painted bead. The braid can be used as a key fob, purse charm, zipper pull, tree ornament, etc.

Following a 30-year career in high tech, Geneviève is now devoting all her time to various artistic pursuits, documented on her web site Amaryllis Creations. She combines her love of painting and beading by creating jewelry pieces that combine hand-painted components with beadwork and bead embroidery; she also enjoys teaching both beading, and pen & ink drawing. In 2007, she was a participant in Robin Atkins' Bead Journal Project. She is the author of the Crafters' Internet Handbook: Research, Connect, and Sell your Crafts Online and is currently working on other book projects. She is a Certified Zentangle Teacher™.
