Art has always been part of my life in one form or another. My mother was an artist and always encouraged my artistic endeavours. Back in the '70s and '80s, it was drawing, crochet, and needlepoint. In the last ten or so years, I have become involved in painting and beading, but I always look for ways to integrate several of these art forms together, hence my interest in using painting and fibers in jewelry making.

I want to thank all the wonderful artists I have learned from in classes, books, and videos. In particular, I am lucky to have studied with Roxann Blazetich-Ozols, Alma de la Melena Cox, Donna Dewberry, Allison Fagan, Kelly Hoernig, Marian Jackson, Janelle Johnson, Linda Jones, Kenneth D. King, Donna Kato, Tina Sue Norris, Ruth O'Neill, Donna Lee Parella, Lisa Pavelka, Diane Reda, Moe Shier, Ros Singleton, and Susan Wimbley.
