Artist • Writer • Teacher

Art has always been part of my life in one form or another. My mother was an artist and always encouraged my artistic endeavours. Back in the '70s and '80s, it was drawing, crochet, and needlepoint. In the last ten or so years, I have become involved in painting, pen & ink, and beading, but I always look for ways to integrate several of these art forms together, hence my interest in using painting and fibers in jewelry making.

Following a 30-year career in high-tech, I am now devoting all my time to artistic pursuits, working on expanding my arts & crafts business by publishing patterns and kits. I am also the author of two books: Macintosh Graphics Techniques for Multimedia and the Crafters' Internet Handbook: Research, Connect and Sell Your Crafts Online, which is now a blog, Crafters' Internet 2.0. I am a member of Decorative Artists in Canada, the Society of Decorative Painters, the Toronto Bead Society, the Forest City Decorative Artists, the Dorchester Artists Network, and the St. Thomas Elgin Artists Guild.

I want to thank all the wonderful artists I have learned from in classes, books, and videos. In particular, I am lucky to have studied with Roxann Blazetich-Ozols, Kari Chapin, Donna Dewberry, Allison Fagan, Diane Gilleland, Kelly Hoernig, Wendy Hunt, Marian Jackson, Janelle Johnson, Linda Jones, Kenneth D. King, Donna Kato, Ruth O'Neill, Donna Lee Parella, Lisa Pavelka, Julie Prichard, Diane Reda, Moe Shier, Ros Singleton, Sharon Tomlinson, and Susan Wimbley.
